Vishnu shrine

small sanctuary in the little wood. The Vishnu path leads from the Shiva tent to the Vishnu shrine.

Here you'll find the lineup for the Vishnu shrine.

Vishnu is the archetype of the preserver of the universe. Unlike Shiva, he is not depicted as an ascetic, but as surrounded by beauty. He wears fine garments and his partner is Lakshmi, the goddess of beauty and fortune.

His devotees are usually inspired by Bhakti Yoga, the path of devotion and the experience of divine love.

In depictions, his attributes are a conch shell, a discus and a mace. When resting, he lies upon the giant serpent Ananta.

From time to time he incarnates as a human being to show humankind the way. His best-known incarnation is considered to be Krishna.

I revere Vishnu, who takes away the world's fear, the sole protector of all beings, of peaceful countenance, whose resting place is the world serpent [Ananta], in whose navel there is a lotus, the lord of the gods, who upholds everything, comparable to the vault of heaven, the colour of a [rain] cloud, with beautiful limbs, the beloved of Lakshmi, the lotus-eyed one, who is attainable by yogis through meditation.
